What should we educate our children? I grew up with good education, which I’m grateful for, but looking back at it, it was mainly “learning what to think” and not “how to use your thinking as a tool”.

#The right answer
Arguing the “right answer” was not encouraged and by that any creative thinking was shut down, or not rewarded. Children are quick learners, if it does not pay out, they will take the easy route, so they can go do other things and lose interest in school. School becomes about “getting grades” instead of learning and personal growth.
This idea also is applicable to Universities, which seem to become more and more “safe-spaces” and “degree-factories”. Instead of hypnotizing students with ideas, we should teach students to actively challenge the content in a friendly structured way, with good rooted arguments and not racing to the finish line. Showing a taste of the actual complexity of all subject will spark genuine enthusiasm into students and teachers.

In hindsight it looks way better to me to first learn how to use our tool (the mind) before getting into content. As we all know, content can change dramatically when changing perspective.
