It is a great pleasure of mine to share with more than 60,000 OS.UNIVERSITY community members that this week we officially joined the 6-months long “EDUCATE’’ program , powered by University College London — the world’s number one in education studies, according to QS World University Ranking, and its partners from NESTA, The Innovation Foundation; BESA, The British Educational Suppliers Association; and F6S.
What is EDUCATE?
EDUCATE, which launched officially at Bett 2018, is a ground-breaking partnership of entrepreneurs, researchers, and educators, led by UCL , whose aim is to develop and promote the use of technology in education by making the best educational research available and accessible to innovators, developing their ideas. Now in its second year, OS.University is part of its fifth cohort of selected entrepreneurs and educators.
What is OS.UNIVERSITY?
OS.University helps learners claim and advance their academic and professional identity beyond institutional and national borders by providing them a credentials passport as a service on the immutable blockchain - the ultimate personal learner’s account. OS.University is a cutting-edge R&D project, backed by a London-based financial consultancy, an established higher education institution, and an award-winning software development unit.
In the meanwhile, OS.University is undergoing an acceleration program, funded by the European Commission through its “Erasmus for Entrepreneurs” program. The program is administrated by the Business & IP Center of the British Library and the BCause Foundation. One of the main program outcomes is “Academia 4.0 — University on the blockchain”- a first-of-its-kind academic book on the application of blockchain in education that concludes 3 years of research around the project.
