Rebranding Generation Team International (RGTI) organized an educational symposium on "Effect of internet usage among Nigerian teens and youths" as part of the ongoing Ondo Youths Empowerment programme(OYEP) week going on in Ondo city, Nigeria. Different Schools were invited to the programme and the gathering was full of intellectuals to educate the students on the usage of internet.

The programme was made to be an interactive one because the student were allow to have their own say on the topic

We asked the students questions like:

1. Can we say internet is a blessing or a curse to
   our generation? The students answered by
   saying it is a blessing.
2. Positive and negative use, which one is high
   among Nigerian youth these days? The
   student answered by saying the negative use.

The first person to educate the student was the president of RGTI in person of Olubusade Ayorinde Alex, he explained to the students on ground what they can do with the internet that will bring positive changes to their life, family, Nigeria, Africa and the whole world at large. He made the students realized that there a lot of things they can do on the internet that can widening there knowledge and also bring money to there pocket legally than using the internet for scamming, wasting their time on facebook and all other social network, watching of porno movies. Some of the important of internet highlighted to the students goes thus;

1. For educational research
2. To learn new words everyday
3. To make money in a legalize way
   and many more.

I was also opportune to give a speech on the importance of internet in my area of discipline (Geography). I explained to the students what internet has brought to Geography in the area of GIS (Geographic Information System). I let them realize that before you can be recognize today as a geographer, you have to have the knowledge of GIS with the use of internet. I gave the students some of the importance of internet to geography as follows:

1. For map searching.
2. To know the local time of different countries.
3. To locate places with the use of GPS.
4. To get weather forecast.

Agent Yemisi (the only female and the Vice president of RGTI) also came up to charge the students up to use the internet in a rightful way to become a great leader in the nearest future.

In conclusion, we made the students realize there a lot of platforms that can pay them based on their innate potentials like writing, drawing, painting and many more than using the internet wrongfully and a typical example is STEEMIT and to also go out and preach to their family and friends how to use the internet rightfully.
