Africa: because of its size, the third largest continent in the world has an area of ​​30,371,130 km². In Africa, there is the Nile River, which is the longest river in the world. The largest desert on earth, the Sahara is also Africa.

Africa was called the black continent by the Europeans who explored it in the 19th century, most of the African countries were colonies of some European countries until the 50s, in the present there are many independent African countries.

Africa has many different climates and landscapes, the deserts are arid and sandy, and are inhabited by diverse animals, in central Africa there are very thick forests, of hot and rainy climate, there are monkeys, chimpanzees and gorillas, in the meadows, which are large wild and uninhabited areas, live African animals such as: zebras, antelopes, giraffes, lions, elephants and rhinos, in Africa there are also ostriches, crocodiles, cobras and pythons.

Many tourists travel on safari to see the wonderful animals and African landscapes, Mount Kilimanjaro. Located in Tanzania, it is the highest in Africa with 5,895 m.

Most people in Africa live in tribes, some Africans are Christians or Muslims, but most belong to tribal religions, some tribes make masks to scare away evil spirits, to ask for rain or to honor ancestors, all the members of a tribe live in the same village or village, wear the same clothes and eat the same kind of food, and generally speak the same language.

A leader or council guides each tribe, which has its own laws, almost all African culture comes from different tribes, all worship their ancestors and have different gods, music is very important for African tribal religions, members of the tribes play typical instruments, such as drums and marimbas, while others dance and sing, the drum also uses it to send messages to other tribes.

Art is also important for tribal religions, artists make sculptures and statues that represent the spirits, the chiefs or the gods of the tribe, they also make and decorate vessels, spoons and baskets that are used daily.

In the ceremonies and festivals of the tribes are worn jewelry and masks that can be sad or smiling, depending on the occasion, the members of the tribes are adorned with necklaces and bracelets of beads as symbols of their age or riches, weaving and pottery They are also tribal art.

Literature is based on legends and folktales that are usually transmitted orally, the members of the tribes narrate them to their children who, in turn, narrate them to theirs when they are older, many of those stories and legends are based on history of the tribe, these stories are usually accompanied with different typical dances.
