Deformed Vegetables and Fruits are still a vegetables and fruits.
Of course, everyone knows prefer the normal shape of a specific veggies ir fruits. perfect shape, right…… because it’s just right, Right?
But however a specific vegetable/fruits look like or whatever the appearance and size it doesn't affect their nutritional value of your fruits or veggies.
It is just simply deformed and may not look pleasing when you cut it, but it’s as good as fresh, and it has the same amount of nutrition as with the perfect ones. Deformities or discoloration - Happens and occur by natural process from the plant itself.
Even for a Tilted vegetable or fresh vegetable. The value of nutrition is still the same, it just look tilted and a bit unsightly, but overall, nutritional value is still the same.
It’s just a shame in our market that deformed fruits or vegetables are taken for granted - means they throw it away.
- For some farmer’s, Deformed or tilted vegetables and fruits can be sell in a bargain or half priced - just because they are deformed.
Fish, Meat and Poultry
Though blemishes in fruits and veggies can be acceptable, be careful though with poultry, fish and meat. Because, discoloration and blemishes doesn't simply apply in this kind of fresh. Blemishes or Discoloration of meat could be a meaning of spoilage or poisonous.
In today’s society, people always mind the appearance, because we feel it is proper and we always want the best of all. (Human instinct).
As a consumer, It is also important to be knowledgable of in’s and out of the market.
A tilted vegetable is just OK
A deformed vegetable is just fine
Considering they sell them in half price or in bargain. It’s a big thing to consider.
In our last vacation in England with my family, i bought a very cheap celery, in a give away price, it’s just because it’s near to their best to date consume period. I was a bit surprise to be honest, because i have never known a vegetable or fruits to have a best to date period, Well, we eat as long as it looks consumable. The celery i bought just looks as freshly picked.
Vegetable/fruits that are deformed is still a vegetable and fruits that has the same nutrition value. Same as applied to tilted vegetable. Even a left over food from the fridge has it's all nutrition content as the freshly cooked ones.
I hope this was helpful to you. I also encourage everyone to consider buying Deformed or Tilted vegetables, same nutrition with a good value of money.
Thank you so much.

As a farmer I hate the fact that consumers want everything to look perfect. When I was vending at the farmers market I would take my 'B' grade tomatoes and peppers and made a little sign that said, 'Cosmetically challenged, need loving home' I sold so many of those just based on that sign. Other farmers kind of rolled their eyes. Consumers just said, hey we are all cosmetically challenged I will give them a home. It was great for me to not waste my hard efforts and the consumer got a heck of a deal to the point where they would come back just to look for them. Thank you for this post.
