Being a Reggio Advocate

Welcome to Sky and Earth on Steemit! 

Sky and Earth is a 'mini-blog' where I share my inspirations and my adventures as an early years educator. and with my two year old son Tian. My blog is a place for those with children, who care for children, or who are studying or interested in early years education and learning. 

Sky and Earth started as a small private group, which is still open as The Sky and Earth Community on Facebook. With much love and support, the group grew into more than I had hoped for, and so I decided to expand its horizons into the public arena. I now blog via Facebook on 'Sky and Earth: Learning and Becoming in the Early Years', and in general I love to use social media to connect with other educators, parents and specialists who are inspired by innovative practices in early education. 

I am an early years educator and leader of over 12 years, and I draw much of my inspiration and guidance from the Reggio Emilia approach, and from play/exploration-centered theories. I practice peaceful parenting and respectful interactions with children, including my own son Tian.
I am an advocate of play, wonder, art, freedom, imagination, investigation, learning, spiritualism, change, and nature. Most of all, I am an advocate for children!
