Child development is the period of physical cognitive, and social growth that begins at birth and continues through early adulthood.
There are different stages of Child Development.

  • New born development: Between the time of birth, and one month, the new born child exhibits movements that are automatic in response to external stimulus. At this stage, a newborn is able to see objects that are close to his eyes, such as his parents face, recognize certain smell, side to side. They cry to indicate their needs.

  • Infant development: A child is between one to 12 months in this stage. The child displays new development abilities, they can sit without support, crawl and stand with support. They can also pick up objects with index fingers and thumb or pincer grasp because they are also in their oral stage.

The oral stage is a period where a child dips anything into the mouth.

Toddle stage
Children at this stage are between age one to age three. They display ritualistic behaviors such as bedtime routine. Toddlers can walk without help, go up the stairs, jump in places, hold a crayon, form a figure on their notes, draw an object. They also follow simple instructions, talk to their parents about their needs. They can also mention names of people around them.

Preschool development
Development occurs between age three and five. The child develops fine motor skills and can jump, climb and balance.

Adolescent

Children at this stage are concerned about their looks, eating disorders may occur at this time. It is also a stage where teens develops their identity and opinions.
