Keeping one's eye on the price is really important. It's not really where we are now that matters, it is where we see ourselves in the future. Brooding about our present condition will only keep our eyes away from the price.
In a nutshell, this is a principle I taught about when I sold my TV that keeps me lazying around just to buy a #PHP book that helped me improve my programming skill.
