World War 2: when confronted with Japanese invaders in eastern China and Mao's communists at home, Chiang Kai Shek said, "The Japanese are a disease of the skin but the communists are a disease of the heart."
That's how I feel about the Republican and Democrat parties. The Republicans have SERIOUS issues, but I don't think they want to change the fabric of American culture. They're like a rash--painful and requiring treatment, but not a threat to the body's mortal faculties.
2020 showed me that Democrats seem to favor an inside-out, upside-down shift in the way we live that may kill the golden goose forever.
America is flawed, but it's where I want to live.
