Nova Famel will be electric and with autonomy for 100 km.
Who does not remember the Portuguese motorcycle brand Famel? Unfortunately, in the late 1990s, the brand went bankrupt but now, the person in charge has ideas to re-market electric motorcycles, highly technological and environmentally friendly.
Joel Sousa, 31, an automobile engineer, recently revealed to Lusa that he has ambitions to re-raise the brand but for this he needs investors. As a first step, Joel Sousa will be exhibiting at the Web Summit 2017, the prototype of the new Famel.
After several studies about the market prospects, we think it is good not to enter the combustion engines and to use the technology of the future and to enter the electric mobility. With this we also realize that there are many issues related to connectivity, the experience you want to have with your vehicle and we want to use this technology to attract young people to our product, an environmentally friendly product with state-of-the-art technology
Joel Sousa
According to Joel Sousa, this prototype that FAMEL will be presenting at the Web Summit, with a Helder Cação trait, "served to validate at the design level", then everything else is done (make homologations, tests and clear the investors).
This new Famel, which will have few similarities with the legendary Famel Xf17, will be electric and will have a range of 100 kilometers. In terms of power, this will be equivalent to a 125 CC of gasoline.
