Below are three basic differences between electrical generator, motor and transformer.

B. Give details about lightning arresters used in the electricity sector in your country |

Lighting arresters which are also known as surge protectors or lighting protection devices are commonly used in my country because these are very essential for protecting the electrical grid and overall infrastructure. These lighting arrester protects electrucal equipments from any damages caused by electrical strikes. Below are some common lighting arresters used in my country.
Types of lightning arresters used in Pakistan:
1. Valve-Type lightning arresters: These arresters are less common today but are still in use in some areas of my country. For preventinv electrical surges, a series of valves are used in these arresters.
2. Gap-Type lightning arresters: These are commonly used in older electrical systems in which a higher protection level is not much needed. These arresters consist of an air gap which play a role to ionize current during a lightning strike or surge to allow the current to pass through the ground
3. MOV lightning arresters: MOV (metal oxide varister) are a type of arresters which are commonly used in Pakistan. These arreaters provide protection of equipments by controlling down high voltages and sending the energy of the circuit to the ground.

As we have descussed above that light arresters are very essential for protecting electrical equipments and for preventing electrical surges. Below in some steps I have shown that how to make a lighting arrester.
Required equipment:
- Copper rod
- A copper bowl
- Insulater
- Copper wire
- Earthing
First I took a copper rod of 3 mm diameter and about 3 feet length.
Four copper rods of about 0.25 mm diameter for connecting to the main rod.
In this step I have connected those four rods to main rod.
Insulator is also necessary for safe fitting of rod to the ground. I have used a rubber instead of ceramic as rubber is also act as insulator.
In last step I have connected the arrester to the earthing bu using copper wire.
so in these steps I have shown you that how to make an arrester. This is a simple aresters and I have not fit it to my house as I am away from my home for study.
