Is there by definition repulsion when magnetic flux moves in opposite directions? As in, is it always the case?
To illustrate, take an example. The magnetic flux in middle of two bar magnets side by side will be in opposite directions, and "bend" outwards, or cancel out, forming null point. It will instead move through opposite pole on other magnet. That process in itself, when the opposing flux "collides", seems like it should be repulsive force. That there is net attraction is clear, but is there also weak repulsive force from "bending" the flux, at the point where that happens (in turn causing flux to bend and cause attraction)? It seems like there would be if, by definition, there is repulsive force when magnetic flux moves in opposite directions.
Here seen through a ferrocell, exactly identical to magnetic repulsion when viewed with ferrocell,
Consider simple example of two electric wires attracting and/or repelling one another. Can magnetic force vectors be reduced to smaller, discrete vectors, where there can be weak repulsion even if there is net attraction, and vice versa? For example, to the left, what schematic drawings show. To the right, actual vectors of attractive and repulsive force?
In a same way, with two concentric ball magnets, there could be attractive force where magnetic flux lines is in same direction, and, repulsive force where magnetic flux is in opposite directions.
That could be a simple model for why these metal bars are pushed to the center of the transverse plane in the coil,
