Electroneum (Anti-ASIC)

       On March 15, Electroneum's CEO, Richard Ells, live-streamed and explained Electroneum's current state and hinted at advanced such as business partners, patents, and mobile mining. On the topic of mobile mining, he explained that your cell phone or tablet is not truly mining the cryptocurrency. You are just being rewarded with Electroneum for running the app.
       Another Big topic being asked in the feed was is Electroneum going to be minable through ASIC machines. For those who are not tech savvy here is a quick rundown of what an ASIC does. It is a chip that is especially good at mining cryptocurrency. For a small cryptocurrency, it could spell disaster for it like with Siacoin. It is so damaging because what it does it only allows those who can buy these machines the ability to mine up a lot and then sell it back at a cheaper price. Thus lowering the value of the coin. While the CEO on livestream states that it will just follow Monero this left many feeling unsure, but I believe that Electroneum will fork it so that will be unable to be mined by ASIC. He even said that Electroneum's algorithm is tweaked so that people in developed countries won't have an advantage when it comes to mining. So we can rest assured that the CPU/GPU community that has been mining Electroneum for the past few months will remain safe and their coin valuable.
