HOLYSHTBALZZ BTC disappeared from Electrum Wallet to Poloniex

Hi guys, im new to crypto trading, we're talking 1 week in kinda new, so super green.
I've been consuming any info i can relating to crypto, i cant get enough. My wife is over my obsession already but i wont let her break me. I eased into a bit of day trading with good results, getting a feel for the game and having enough success to add a little more coin into play. Still being a little nervous zapping $ around with this fancy new tech, i shot a test amount from my Electrum wallet to Poloniex, simplez? NOPE, GONE! I received an error when sending the coin, something like "The transaction was rejected by network" (because im an idiot i didnt take note of the exact message - Is there an error log in electrum??). The coin left my wallet, the transaction was confirmed complete, 250+ confirmations on the blockchain but no hint of anything on Polinex? I opened a ticket with Pol within the first 30 min but my guess is they wont bother with a response for a while, if ever
Its been about 12hrs and still lost, because of the error in electrum I dont know if issue is with them or pol? I get that Pol is scaling up pretty fast and that there is sht going down relating to the fork but, is this normal? I've lost all confidence to move coin from my wallet now. All trades made on the exchange have been fine but getting more funds there, not so much.
I havent told my wife yet as i dont need old negative nelly all up in my grill atmo
Would love any info you gurus might have on this - any reassurance would be awesome :D
