How does it feel to be drawn, painted or sculpted?

So this is a drawing I did for this awesome family. It was to be a surprise for the wife and the daughter. When i got it delivered, this is a picture they sent meIMG-20180902-WA0001.jpgHe told me that the family couldn't stop admiring the portrait.

That made me curious. I have not been drawn before, and if i was ever drawn, I am not sure it looked like me. So I haven't actually received an art piece before to know how exciting it can be.

So my question now is, how exciting is it to receive a work of art and how long it can be valued?

Here are some lazy shots I took while making this lovely pencil piece.

You are talented, do you know that? This was such an incredible piece of art and i am sure the family will treasure it forever. I do not have any self portrait but if I have one, I definitely will frame it and hand on the wall. I love black and white as the theme, it looks great and elegant. From your drawing, it shown the love of the family to their daughter. The wife's hair was so detail, with only one color. You able to shade it and look so natural. Good work and now i can answered question, I would be very exciting if i received such an art work, would frame it and hang on my wall forever.

Wow!!! This is so warming. And I hope with time you will be able to send some sbd so I make you have it hubg on your wall😁😁😁. Thanks so much. I really appreciate. Your comment is warming. Following you already

Thanks @trincowski. It's been a while. Hope you doing great

WOW is spectacular @unyimeetuk, it looks like a photograph taken in black and white, what a way to make realism .. this is pure art .. My respects for you !! It looks quite big that drawing, what measures does it have?

I am a big fan of hyper realism and I love details in an art so I try as much as i can to capture every detail and make the art pop out. Thanks so much. I respect you too. Can we be friends??😄😄. The measure is 2×3ft

Posted using Partiko Android

It would be very interesting to see you drawing in a video, you could try it .. If of course we can be friends, I will follow you to be aware of your next drawings, a hug from Venezuela

This piece is just beautiful and perfectly made. I can imagine the joy that filled this woman's heart after recieving this surprise.

I have never really received a drawing, painting or sculpture of me before (hopefully, i will receive one from you someday, lol.) But I think there is something beautiful about being able to see how you look through someone else's eyes (in this case yours) especially if it kinda captures all the nice details about you. And it makes that feeling of excitement even "bigger" when the work is being done beautifully.

Sometimes however, I think what makes it exciting is the thought conveyed by the person giving the drawing/painting (in this case her husband). I feel their is so much feeling and though behind getting someone's drawing/painting done instead of just going out and getting a photo shot done. It has an amazing feeling to it. And sometimes, it is the memory contained in the drawing that causes that much excitement..

I am sure they are gonna treasure this for a very long time, well, except if they end up getting another. But the first, will always have a special place in their heart.... Pardon my long comment.. Lol.

Hahahaahaha you are truly amazing. Captured my mind and made me smile while reading through the comment.
Your comment makes me wish I had a painting of myself so I can actually feel your words.

And yea I am hopeful too(like you are hoping) to get some sbd from you to make a piece as lovely as this for you😁😁😁. Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! @audreybits

I am glad I made you smile. Well, you should get around making your own painting one of these days, it would be a nice feeling. Trust me!

Hahahah... Well, that hope could be fulfilled soon if your rate isn't too high but if it is, it would have to wait until I get "steem rich". Lol!

It was a pleasure!

This is so beautiful! I would love to have such portrait at home!

Thanks so much @delishtreats. Commission me ao I make something beautiful like this for you😁

How many kilos of charcoal did you use before you can draw like that?

Hahahaha this got me laughing. Took a 2 sticks of charcoal pencil didn't measure in kilo. Thanks❤❤😊

The truth is, I've never had any shot done in my honour before neither have I had a portrait of me done this beautifully before, the truth is I think art does not expire and it's value does not deteriorate, that's why famous painting like the Monalisa does not lose it's value.
This is totally beautiful, totally precise and awesome I was beginning to wonder if it's coal or pencil, but honestly this is awesome I love the deep black colours.
Art is definitely life and this is outstanding

Thank you so much. Art ia truly life. I have had an experience where a woman wanted to see me draw real life when she was ill. I did and it made her happy. Thanks so much again for the nice words

@unyimeetuk Itis incredible the work of art of the drawing of the portrait of that happy family. It's a pleasure to see the quality, passion and dedication you draw. It's excellent in black and white. Congratulations on your great talent. What a great moment you captured in your drawing of that family. Enjoy seeing how talented you are. Everything is beautiful. Your art is original and the whole concept is beautiful. Your drawing is tender and charming. A big greeting. Successes in your artistic career.

Awwwn thanks so much @yeninsfer. Your comment has made my day

It is my friend's pleasure to acknowledge your great talent, support it and give it great value. Art is a beautiful thing. And your art is charming dear friend. I wish you the best of the world. A big hug.

This is just too perfect. I can picture this scene in my mind, it is hard to remember that it is a drawing not a picture. You are a great artist @unyimeetuk.
I have never had my portrait drawn, no artist has impressed me enough. The portraits i have seen always has one fault or another. If i wish to have my portrait drawn, i would definitely come to you. The idea appeals to me a lot.

Awwwwwn thanks so much. And I will be glad to impress you. And eh! You won't see fault again😀

With what i have seen i am sure i would find no fault. If you don't mind me asking, did you study art in school? If so, which school?

Most definitely😁. I feel proud😀😀

Dear Artzonian, thanks for using the #ArtzOne hashtag. Your work is valuable to the @ArtzOne community. Quote of the week: Art, freedom and creativity will change society faster than politics. -Victor Pinchuk

I think that anyone that has the luck to be portraited with such quality has to feel lucky to own it, and to be able to afford it. I have a big drawing in my bedroom and always seemed to me a great luxury.

Wow!!!! Really?? This comment is so warming. Most people actually think I should do it for free. Glad to know someone who knows the worth of art. Thank you @palasatenea. Its been a while

Posted using Partiko Android

For free? they work for free too? if they don't either way they're stupids or ignorants. Don't listen to them.

I think it's ignorance. Most feel it shouldn't be expensive. I do get questions like "is it not too expensive for an art work?" It's always sad

Posted using Partiko Android

Yes is very sad as you said, people should learn to value the art, when you think about this issue, you realize that most of the artist in the history were poor people that only survived because the elite buyed them works. There are few lucky ones that manage to live enough to success and be recognized.

Even famous artists like Van Gogh lived in very poor conditions, he selled two pictures in life I think, one of them to his beloved brother.

It's really sad. The discouragements I get from people to get a good job and leave art is uncountable. Artists are believed to be poor people who struggle to feed. And recently there is a campaign for people to buy arts from living artist because the dead ones don't need the money. Imagine Da vinci's piece still selling. Most great artists got their recognition when the died. It's confusing

Unyime, listen to me here in Steemit you have ways to earn more than selling your artworks to others. I see that your account have grown significantly, I bet that if you invest that steem properly soon you will have some nice earnings.

As you know I'm not an expert here but you can delegate your SP to UA or to the upcoming 1UP, proyects that help to minnows accounts, for that delegation you will have upvotes from the community free, and I mean a good bunch of upvotes regularly.

Wow!!! Really??? Please I need proper understanding on it and how to go about it

@unyimeetuk great art, you made me cry too beautiful as I would like you to make such a picture of my aunt who raised me as a child she taught me a lot of humility that I appreciate today. I congratulate you for the great art that also made me happy that you filled my heart, you gave me a good idea, I hope you continue like this, giving the best talent you have in your hands, @neymarth10.

Ohhh thanks so much @neymarth10. Hopefully we can pull that through and give your aunt a lovely portrait as this. She will be so happy

So so pretty @unyimeetuk! Your drawing looked like a portrait photo! How amazing is that?? The level of details you put into each person is mind blowing. You have great talent there @unyimeetuk and you should not do it for free. You should charge for commission (not sure if this is the correct term), for the time and effort that you put into to the drawing. I have never seen a drawing that looked so real and you drew a family of three! Personally, I have not been drawn before either, but if I ever do request for a drawing of myself, I would like the drawing to turn out like how yours did for the family.

Ye ye ye ye ye I do charge for commisions😁. The time and energy should benefit me because they say time is money. Thanks for pointing that out to me. You are really awesome. And I have seen that you are a lover of art. Is nice to know you. Followed

Posted using Partiko Android

Ah good good :) Hehe.. yes me lover of art and learning how to draw but nowhere near your standards. Mine is usually kiddish drawings for fun :D Thank you for following me. Nice to know you too :)

Oh really? Patience, practice and persistence will do the magic. If you want to be this good, its easy when you apply those three principles. Cheers

Thank you so much for the advice @unyimeetuk :) The 3Ps! I will work on it! Hope one day I will be able to draw like you.

Can't wait to see you there 😁

Oh dear. Might take some time but try I must 🤓

Brilliant work, congratulations!!

Thanks so much @pipoune. You are amazing

It's shocking how the features are captured in what even looks like a photograph.

One question, what are the charcoal blurrings used in the background? Deepness? A lot of drawing friends use it, but I don't get it.

It's no surprise to see them admiring it. That is one fantastic piece of art. The skill and talent to produce a drawing with that level of detail and emotion portrayed. You can really see the happiness in the peoples faces, it shines out through your work.

Thank you @niallon11 it gladdens my heart whenever someone gets to smile at my work and admire it. That's why I try as much as possible to bring out the best in every drawing

Posted using Partiko Android

Hello this drawing is absolutely amazing i totally understand that the family just couldn't stop lookinf at it it looks so special

Hola,me encanta tu trabajo sigue así por favor sígueme

That is a lovely drawing of a lovely family. I think I would do the same of cannot getting enough admiring it. Great artwork you made there! How big is it? And how long does it usually take you to do such size of drawing?

You wondered how it is to be drawn. Have you ever tried self portrait? I just saw a post here wherein the artist took a model photo of himself and drew it. Maybe you can also try... 😊

Wow another excellent job! It must have taken weeks to finish!

Thanks so much @coquiunlimited. Yea it too days to finish it up
