Last of the Østerlars Kirke is the attic. Here is where people eventually sheltered against attacks. At barely 10 meter (3 feet) across it's hard to imagine a whole community staying here. More so if you imagine here to be food and water stocked for a prolonged time. If you were here you could only hope that an attack wouldn't last very long! Taking a look outside there is a clock tower (on the right on the 2nd photo) although it doesn't look like that. This also doubled as a barn and a first line defense of the territory around the church.
