Finally, the Twitter board of directors have agreed to a $44bn (£34.5bn) takeover offer made by the billionaire Tesla Boss, Elon Musk.
Two weeks ago, Mr. Musk, made a shocking offer to buy Twitter. The firm initially rejected Mr. Musk's bid, with the intention of asking shareholders to vote to approve the deal.
Noted to be the world's richest man, leading the aerospace firm SpaceX, and shareholder in electric vehicle maker Tesla, which he runs, and according to Forbes magazine, he has a net worth estimated net worth of $273.6bn. Mr. Musk has suggested this will give him the freedom to make the changes he wants to the business. At the beginning of April, Mr. Musk had become the largest shareholder in the firm with a 9.2% stake and his targeting of Twitter moved at a remarkable speed.
