A few years ago, I didn't think Elon haters would become more annoying than Elon stans, but here we are...
I believe Elon got into PayPal in part because he believed in what we would today call crypto.
I believe he got into Tesla because he believed in EVs.
I believe he got into SpaceX because he wanted humanity to become a multiplanetary species.
Him buying Twitter I think was in part because he was addicted to the platform and wanted to use it how he wanted and in part because he wanted greater (but not unlimited) free speech for more users.
He believes in Starlink's ability to cut the chord, and has used it to help where he thought help was needed.
If this makes him rich, it's because he's brought positive goals into reality. The arguments against him? He's narcissistic and trollish and sometimes wrong on some stuff and insecure and whatever. Like... Fine? He doesn't have to be perfect. Even the probably being a shitty father thing... That's pretty common among successful people, unfortunately enough.
I still like a lot of his goals and am grateful he brought so many of them to reality. Of course he's got flaws. It's just so weird to focus on those when he's got so many accomplishments that have benefited humanity. He doesn't have to have been the first person in the door in Tesla or the one who literally designed reusable rockets or something crazy to think that his contribution wasn't essential towards that stuff or that it wouldn't have happened as quickly without him.
And the people who think such sentiments are just some kinda incel idol worship or whatever are just weird and projecting. He's done good stuff and deserves some of that credit his ego craves. You don't need to be some kinda fan to recognize that, and fighting against any praise in order to hate more is just silly and pathetic.
