얼마전 아는 형님의 추천으로 유튜버 채널 '1분과학'에서 '다 함께 만드는 신'이라는 영상을 보게 되었다. 세계적으로 유명한 사람이 나와서 이야기를 했기 때문일까? 고도로 발달된 인공지능에 대해 공포심이 들었다.

영상의 내용은 알고리즘을 통해 고도로 인공지능은 고도로 발달하고 있으며, 이때문에 개인이 생각을 하지 않아도 되는 시점이 오고 있다고 이야기한다.

영상에서 이야기하는 것처럼 그리고 엘론 머스크가 느끼고 있는 걱정거리처럼 인공지능이 사람들을 지배하는 시대가 온다면 사람의 필요성은 없는 것이지 않을까? 아마 그전에 점점 사람의 필요성이 없어질 것 같다.

이미 어느정도 지배되고 있는 것 같다. 우린 스마트폰을 통해 컴퓨터에 대한 의존도가 높다. 최근 몇년간 정보통신의 발전 속도는 엄청나며 인공지능 역시 마찬가지이다. 정말 인공지능이 거의 모든 것을 하는 사회가 되었을 때, 사람의 역할은 무엇일까? 결국 사람이 동물을 부리듯, 인공지능이 사람을 부리고 있지않을까? 우리가 강아지의 특성을 알고 길들이는 것처럼 인공지능을 자기가 움직이게 하고 싶은대로 길들여버리는 것은 아닐까? 아니면 그렇게 길들여지는 것이 더 나은 것인가?

여러 질문들이 떠오른다.

※ 그래도 문학, 예술의 분야는 사람을 넘어설 수 없을 거란 생각을 했다. 창작이란 인간의 고유한 영역이라 생각을 헀다. 인터넷 기사에서 인공지능이 소설을 썼다는 소식을 들은 적이 있어 인공지능이 썼던 글을 몇 줄 봤다. 기대이상으로 잘 썼다는생각이 들었다. 실제 글을 보니 창작의 영역도 뺏길 가능성이 없지않다라는 생각이 들었다.

창작, 창의력이란 것들 생각해보면 완전히 새로운 것도 '창의'이지만 시간이 갈 수록 모방, 패러디 혹은 어떠한 것들을 결합하거나 빼는 등의 방식을 통해 새로운 것들이 만들어지는 것 같다. 이런 작업 역시 다양한 알고리즘을 통해 인공지능이 계산하고 만들어 낼 수 있지 않을까하는 생각도 든다.
