With Increase risks of Malware, Phishers, and Virus since we are approaching 2019, the threat is higher than ever. What could happen is the emails get infected, it infects the cPanel and your website, and vice versa. Hesitate on taking some action and watch Google blacklist your site!
If you have a basic website with maybe 1 or 2 emails, you should be fine. Make sure you have some security set in place.
If you are running an office with 10+ emails that are used daily, where you are sending vital information, it is best to opt to place these email accounts on a separate server all together. This will ensure if your website gets malware, your emails will be safe and vice versa.
