in embeded •  3 years ago

Today most of the people are inclined towards information technology and other computer science related disciplines. But VLSI (very large scale integration of circuits) and embedded systems continue to be the core of computer systems and are still focused upon primarily. Embedded systems involve the designing and building of chips and then loading them with software. VLSI is used to integrate chips out of millions of transistors for the purpose of processing and memory storage. VLSI assists in obtaining compact sizes for embedded systems and that is why VLSI and embedded systems go hand in hand.

Career possibilities of the job
Once an individual enters the work life then he or she may face few hardships is finding solutions to complex problems. But things will ease out later. One can choose to be a consultant, service agent or a product billing analyst. Each path is levied with lot of leaning opportunities. If someone has a low percentage in graduation or they are not from a renowned institution then still their path of success will not be barred. They can undergo training for 3 to 6 months which will help them grab a job with medium level companies. After gaining some experience in such companies one can switch to bigger scale companies.

Industries hiring
Industries manufacturing consumer goods like mobile phone, washing machines etc. are major recruiters of VLSI and embedded system graduates. Other areas demanding for VLSI and embedded system graduates are medical equipment manufacture and automobile industry. Few pioneers of electronics industries who look for VLSI and embedded system graduates are Samsung, Siemens, Bosch. The working conditions in these companies are conducive for a happy workforce and there is a proper balance between work and leisure.

Approximate salary to be expected at the entry level
The real learning comes through the job. So one may feel that the pay is low and the entry is difficult in this field. But this happens initially only. Once an individual gets absorbed in this field, he or she will make the desired amount of money in no time. When one tends to gain an experience of two years or so, one can switch to a better company and earn a fat salary.

Pre qualifications required to join the stream
One must pass the +2 level with physics, chemistry and mathematics.
One must clear entrance tests and complete the course successfully with no backlogs. But the course should be among the different streams of electronics engineering like Electrical and electronics, Electronics and communication, Electronics and instrumentation etc.
If some one is holding other degrees in electronics like Bachelor of Science, Master of Science then he or she can also opt for a career in embedded systems.
A good understanding of theory and practical hands on micro controllers will be of great help.
