Childhood Dreams
This is the story of Emma and Felipe, two children who arrived at the clinic two weeks ago. They do not know each other but they have very clear dreams and goals for their future. No matter what your parents do or the careers they are more accustomed to hearing they have in mind what they want to do when they grow up.
Who did not dream of being something big? I think we all went through that moment at some point and it seemed the most incredible thing to be great and to be able to work on what we thought would be our dream job.
These children made me relive my childhood a little, it was very coincidental that the two of them came the same day and both of them said something that filled my heart.
-Emma: "I want to be dientora when I grow up."
-Dani: "What is to be dientora?"
-Emma: "Doctor but with teeth."
Then a few hours later Felipe arrived:
-Dani: "Feli, what do you like the most?"
-Felipe: "Playing with airplanes, and when I grow up I will be an airplane pilot."
These two words, even though I know they are not well said, they made my heart happy, they already had a plan in mind of what to do when they grew up, something adults often do not know nor are we close to being so sure of a plan future.
When I was a child I remember going to the dentist and thinking in my mind: "I want to be a dentist!", I loved all the appliances they had to fix my teeth, the orderly thing they always had and how clean my teeth were. During my adolescence I left the desire to be a dentist and changed it to be an engineer. But, the moment I decided to study dentistry, I remembered that dream as a child and a smile came on my face, I felt I was fulfilling a dream.
And, even if you do not believe me, the other dream I had as a child was that I wanted to be a pilot like my dad, I remember studying the things that were sent to my brother in the aviation school and learning how many grades he owed. turn to return me from "x" to "and" while we were on the way to the beach with my family. This is a dream not yet fulfilled, which I believe that I would not do it in fear at the moment, but we do not know the things that life can bring us.
As children we have dreams, we have no barriers to believe in what we can become, that reasoning that we have as an adult helps us a lot in some moments, but sometimes we have to ignore it and simply let ourselves go by our dreams and fulfill them.
The potatoes of Emma and Felipe let them dream, as did my parents. The three of us were allowed to open their wings and fly. Let's do this with the children around us, but also with ourselves and let nothing stop us to fulfill our dreams.
