OUR LOVE FOR HUMANITY

Hi Steemians , Good day.

Today let me touch your heart by reminding you about our life and humanity. But before I talk more on this, please permit me to ask these brief questions..

  • Where is our conscience?
  • Why is the love for our fellow human diminishing?
  • What happened to humanity

As I sat thinking and trying to come up with answers to these questions. I realised that we as human have lost it. We have lost the love we are supposed to have for each other. Love for our fellow human life has been lost and replaced with self love. We have become so selfish in our love more than ever before.

O My fellow steemians! Our world has gone madder as men have outdone themselves in a race to become richer and occupy exalted positions without caring a hoot. Men has built wonders and sought heaven here on earth, destroying every value,  asking even God to dare them. credit.       Still asking, where is our conscience?

I can't forget the tragedy story that one of my fellow Corp member told me then in NYSC camp as part of his experience on his journey to the camp grand, Micgregor camp, Afigbo, Ebonyi State in 2016. .

According to him the journey was fun and dusty. On his journey, in a commercial hummer bus 🚌 , they passengers were wonderful, especially the driver. They laughed and laughed as he was driving and sharing a wonderful stories....the fun was eternal no matter the dusty road, until tragedy struck.

Coming on top speed behind them were two motor bike men popularly known as Okada in their bid to overtake their bus,  they collided with each other. Two vibrant young men hustling for a living, died instantly.

What a life! As usual people gathered, gadgets were produced  faster, people started taking pictures, recording the accident scene, the victims were left unattended. According to him, not a single soul was ready to help those poor boys that were still alive. What was their offence? They were over speeding. So literally they brought their fate upon themselves. Empty cars and buses were passing-by but none cared to stop to help or at least help them to the hospital. We pleaded with many motorists to stop and offer a helping hand but none seemed interested in saving the dying young men. They were under the sun☀ , bleeding profusely with no hope of survival.

But Then, quickly he remembered a distant friend that works in a nearby hospital, he scrolled through his phone contacts and fortunately, he still have his contact, then he placed a call and narrated to him what happened and requested for an ambulance, that was when he got the shocking news. “The hospital does not release the ambulance for such service”.  Then does that mean the ambulance is meant for animals? His friend queried and said “The ambulance is cash and carry, leave them, Passersby will help them out”. Really, what Passersby I asked? He Said to his friend

According to his story, that Was how they stood, helpless as these two men struggled to live but unfortunately for them, when help eventually came, it was already too late

Too late to say even their last prayers, too late to say their names or where they are from. Too late to say 'I love you' to their families. They died while humans watched.

His bad experience was touching right? But not just the story, but the question I asked you today: Where is our conscience? Search within you today, do you have love left for your fellow human?

Ponder on this as you go about your day to day activities

Thanks

Great work, before I read through, I had to personally ask myself those questions first

  • Where is our conscience?
  • Why is the love for our fellow human diminishing?
  • What happened to humanity

Great one @christsteemsport

Nigeria is trending

We don't love the way we should because of selfishness.

Civilization has raped humanity. The sense of community we used to enjoy in those days which made us our brothers' keeper is gone. We now live in an era where you can live with your brother in the same town for months without visiting. Where intruders invade into your privacy and rob you of everything you have at gunpoint and blood shed. I remember when we never bothered to lock our doors at night, when you could ask your neighbour to look over your soup on the fire, when one man's problem is regarded as a communal one and steps immediately taken to solve it. Those were the good old days. We watch on helplessly as the society becomes less concerned with what goes on around around it.

It takes special grace of God to survive in this country. Imagine what a hospital that's meant to help patients is saying? Yet they will be going strike unnecesarily bcos of stipends government is owing them! God is watching everyone of us.

Ye so bro
