Empathy
Empathy is the ability to sense what others feel.
There is both emotional empathy and what is called cognitive empathy.
Emotional empathy:
It's like actually feeling what somebody is feeling.
Cognitive empathy:
We both see and experience something the same way at a mental level.
A trusting and strong social bond requires both emotional and cognitive empathy
Lack Of Empathy
People lack normal empathy, or the ability to feel what others are feeling, when something has gone wrong in their brains. It might be the result of a genetic defect, or physical damage due to trauma, or a response to their environment.
Have you met people who lack normal empathy?
