Empty calories – what we should watch out for in our food.

We were familiar with the term empty calories by françois Magendie, a French physiologist who is involved in the processes taking place in our body, more specifically the processes of digestion after eating a given food and classifies it according to accepted norms.

Nutli – Score an energy scale that classifies each food.

The Nutli – Score scale was developed by a French team of nutritionists who classify food ratings for the nutritional value of the food they eat. The EREN team was led by a certain Sege Herceburg – a French epidemiologist and at the same time an excellent nutritionist, he was chairman of the French dietary prevention program, as well as the head of the study of the process of the impact of nutrition on the development of cardiovascular diseases.

Of the curiosities, it should be noted that in France there is a strong emphasis on healthy eating, so there was a tax on sweetened beverages, which is the first such idea in Europe. It aims to target consumers towards fertility with greater and better nutritional value.

In 2017, Nutri-Score-style labelling was adopted in France, and England, Belgium and Spain also joined the labelling. The plan is to adopt the project across the EU, the idea is used by leading food chains.

Junk food is a newly introduced term designed to mark and show food with neglib energy and nutritional value. In Poland, so-called junk food, usually unhealthy and hard to digest.

Spoiled calories include fattening simple sugars, as well as the fat itself labeled in food, the third to the pair is alcohol, which in itself contains a lot of calories.

While simple sugars can be replaced by all kinds of sweeteners, fats should rather be burned by nature, 1 g of fat contains as much as 6 calories. For meat, the best substitute is bird meat, the least caloric is turkey meat. The last largest group are spirits, which are very caloric, medium-quality beer can contain as many as 250. Among the least caloric beers on the market are Polish beer Princes, can of beer Prince has jesyne 170 calories, per 0.5 liters of alcohol.

The most caloric alcohols include all kinds of cognacs and liqueurs, which do not only contain alcohol, they are still very sweet and at the same time very caloric - in the liqueur per 100g is as much as 250 kcal. In addition, if it is a coconut liqueur it contains even more energy values.

So what are calories and how do you deal with them? Calories are the energy value needed to produce warm, for our body. In order not to give up, it is assumed that regardless of age and size it is necessary to eat no more than 1400 kcal per day. These should be unprocessed and easily digestible products, balanced in terms of selected vegetables.
