OOPS!!! I STOLE SOME STORIES

Hey there!!

I would like to share a secret with you. Last year I travelled to India for my first time. It wasn't a very long trip (I have a job and I couldn't leave for as long as I would have wanted) but I discovered that I have a hidden habit: I am a thief!

First of all, I fell in love with the country. The colors, the smell, the nature and the culture. So far and so close, so hot and so cold, sweet and bitter. As we were on the road, I didn't even let myself blink so I didn't miss any bit of the activity on the streets. Music, food, kids, goats, COWS and lots of honking. I may sound stupid, but I had never been in an Eastern country before (I am from Spain) and I was really surprised about the whole situation. I suddenly realized that my city was actually REALLY BORING!!!

I took my camera (Canon AV1) and started shooting. I wasn't really thinking of the result, but I had fun. It wasn't until a few weeks after, back in Barcelona, that I developed the films and acknowledged something: I had been stealing people's stories with my lens!!!

As I was going through the pictures, my brain was bursting thoughts, memories and emotions. I jumped from one to another chapter of my journey in India and I remembered each person I had captured in my pictures. What I felt and what I learned. I had always liked photography before, but in that moment I understood the true meaning of it and I fell in love.
