There are countless ways To turn your life on its head. Sometimes you're coasting along, doing your thing, and fate changes things drastically. People's stories are rewritten without warning, and without them wanting these changes to happen. This is not one of those stories.
For most people, life is a treadmill, whether they know it or not. The wonders and conveniences of modern life sometimes carry with them a staggering amount of responsibility and obligation. Many bend over backwards to gain the privilege of qualifying to carry a lifelong debt, in the form of a mortgage or some other financial obligation. And what's at the end of it all? Retirement? A leisurely life of relaxation, good food and drink, and travel to exotic destinations? Maybe, but as many of us are realizing, those days, at least under those terms, may never come. Unless you are successful and savvy from a young age you just might never "get there." You may find yourself trying to eke out an existence on a fixed income, waiting for the day you might be able to sell the house you worked your whole life to afford, to live off the equity. And that's if you were lucky enough to be able to enter the real estate market at all! Sound familiar? I sincerely hope not but if it does then stay with me.
This is the first chapter of my story, as I attempt to get off the treadmill and start enjoying the life that most of us think we have to wait to begin. This story doesn't talk about how to make money. It's not a handbook for earning passive income, nor is it necessarily a playbook for how I think other people should live their lives. In the end, if you manage to take anything useful away from this at all, it may just serve as a metaphor. All I want to tell you is that another life is out there, waiting for you. No matter what position you're in now, you can live it.
Thanks for reading and I hope you'll come back to read some more.
