Located in Southeast Asia, Malaysia, commonly referred to as "M'sia," is a federal country comprising thirteen states and three federal territories. Generally, Malaysia can be divided into two parts: West Malaysia, which is located on the Malay Peninsula, and East Malaysia. The capital of Malaysia is Kuala Lumpur, while the federal government seat is in Putrajaya.

Malaysia is one of the founding members of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and is also a member of organizations such as the Indian Ocean Rim Association and the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC). Today, Malaysia has emerged as a diverse, developing industrial nation in Asia and a significant player in the global emerging market economy. The tourism industry in Malaysia is extremely well-developed, becoming the third-largest source of foreign exchange revenue.

Major cities in Malaysia include Kuala Lumpur, Kuching, Ipoh, Johor Bahru, Kuantan, and Seremban. The official language is Malay, and the currency is the Malaysian Ringgit (MYR). The country operates under a federal political system, with the main ethnic groups being Malays, Chinese, and Indians. The predominant religions practiced include Islam, Buddhism, Taoism, and Hinduism.

In Malaysia, vehicles drive on the left side of the road, and the country has a high Human Development Index. Kuala Lumpur, as the capital, is an important tourist city, home to the Petronas Twin Towers, which are among the tallest buildings in Asia and serve both sightseeing and telecommunications purposes.

Visitors to the city can also see mosques and various Buddhist and Hindu temples, as well as over twenty Christian churches. Malaysia's climate is classified as tropical rainforest and tropical monsoon, with no distinct seasons and minimal temperature variation throughout the year.

Malaysia boasts rich natural resources, ranking among the world's top producers and exporters of rubber, palm oil, and pepper. Additionally, it has significant outputs of minerals such as tin, iron, gold, tungsten, bauxite, and manganese. In the 1970s, Malaysia primarily relied on an agricultural economy. However, with the ongoing restructuring of its economy, the electronics, services, construction, and manufacturing sectors have rapidly developed, with the private economy becoming a new pillar of national economic growth.

Malaysia's transportation system is highly developed, featuring an extensive road network that connects the north and south of the Malay Peninsula and a growing aviation sector. However, inland waterways remain underdeveloped.
