Vimm.TV

Vimm is a live streaming platform that takes out the middleman so viewers and creators don’t have to pay enormous fees on tips and subscriptions. This creates a more healthy ecosystem for streamers, giving each creator a fair opportunity to generate revenue by doing something they love.

It has been an amazing journey so far. On July 1st 2018, the Vimm.TV alpha was made public. After a month of real world testing, trying to break our own platform and learning from our mistakes, we have now reached a stage where we are proud to officially introduce Vimm.tv to the Steemit community. Everyone within the Vimm team would like to thank early adopters who gave feedback and sent bug reports so far, we understand community is key and we greatly appreciate all of your ideas and help. Your feedback combined with the dedication of our development team is what allows us to improve Vimm at such a fast pace.

Reaching out to the Steemit community was the first thing that came to mind while brainstorming crowdfunding ideas. Running a live streaming platform comes with costs, and with your help, we’re attempting to raise enough money to cover for the first six months of deployment, and pay our developers. This money will allow us to keep the platform running and accelerate the process of creating, testing, polishing and releasing new features. If we reach our goal, we’re going to expand our coverage to servers located around the world to provide the viewers and streamers with the best possible experience.

Funding Goal

Your contributions will help us cover development costs and server costs for the first phase of deployment. With your help, we'll also be able to hire more developers and properly reward early adopters of the platform.

Server costs (First phase of deployment => 4 ingest servers => US West, US East, EU West & EU Central) ≈ $7,000.00

Development costs (hiring developers, graphic designers and writers) ≈ $3,000.00

Below is a list of features that are going to be implemented, with your help, within the next 6 months. These are the basic features we want to have available before transitioning to the BETA cycle.

Delegation & Rewards

If you would like to get rewarded while supporting the Vimm project, you can delegate Steem Power to the @vimm account and receive a passive income from the rewards generated with your Steem Power. You will receive a payout every 7 days after you’ve been a delegator for at least a week. Payouts will be based on the size of your delegation.

i.e. If you’re delegating 5% of total delegations, you will be getting 5% of the total delegators reward pool on each payout.

Your delegations will allow us to rewards streamers with bigger upvotes and grow @vimm’s own SP to help with sustainability. You can take your delegation back at any time so there is no risk attached to it. You can try it, see if you’re satisfied with your profits and decide where you want to go from there!
