"If there's no one beside you
When your soul embarks
Then I'll follow you into the dark"

I think this is the most beautiful lyrics I've ever heard.

None of us know what is going on in other's lives...unless, of course, they tell you. There are millions each day suffering with who knows what. It could be anxiety, depression, the death of a loved one or friend, suicidal thoughts...the list is endless. All of us, at one point or another, either disregard the thoughts and feelings of others as trivial, or something that we cannot impact or alter. "I do not know how the help them, but I do hope someone can...": thoughts of the masses.

Please, do not keep this mindset.

I know the possible thought that could arise after reading this: my problems should be number one, because, of course, taking care of myself is most important.

I agree to an extent. Yes, taking care of yourself is key. Some cannot do it on their own. Encouragement is a key, and sometimes, a life-saver.

It hurts me each day to read about people, young and old, taking their lives due to how others treated them, or how others didn't treat them. It truly breaks my heart.

I, too, suffer from depression and anxiety. Sometimes it gets the best of me. I, once, attempted suicide, but was unsuccessful. It changed me. Do I still have those thoughts? Of course. One who is prone to depression will never defeat those demons. It's about controlling them and harnessing them: pushing yourself to a better conclusion. I struggle everyday. Tough? Yes. Manageable? Yes. But not alone. Know each of us have the ability to encourage another. Loved one, stranger, friend, etc...

All that said, I challenge each of you this week to let someone know that you are thinking about them and that you are there for them if they need it. In a way, this makes me snicker, for I hate when people challenge others on social platforms. I know and get it. But with this, you never know how a life could be changed. It could be a friend or family member you haven't talked to in years. It could be a sister you talked to yesterday. It doesn't matter. You don't know how a life can be touched.

One love and may someone's day get a little better this week.

I cannot say how much this has touched me..but I still want to know how to supress those suicidal thoughts because those thoughts could really take over

The hardest thing to do when those thoughts arise is to reach out to someone. For some reason, we feel shame. And to a certain extent, it makes us feel we are not deserving of help or a friendly hand. But you are. And I am. And everyone else who suffers through depression and anxiety is. We all deserve help if it is needed. What has helped me is finding something I enjoy doing. Photography, graphic design, going for a run...all hobbies that I enjoy and raise levels of endorphins. If someone hasn't told you today you are awesome, let me be the first to tell you. You're a rockstar! Find a hobby. Change your lifestyle if it's hindering you and find the beauty in everything, even the difficult parts. One love, friend.

... And in addition to @jgullinese's suggestions, allow me to add my two cents - suicidal thoughts, as the title suggests, come from... Thoughts. And thoughts are the product of the mind chatter. When you have such thoughts or just before you feel they are coming, stop! Cease thinking. How? Take few deep breaths. Did you know that when you breathe deeply you can't think at the same time? Try it. At first, the troubling thoughts about suicide will float back very quickly. Keep practicing. Breathe deeply, go and do something to distract your mind. In time you will realize that the thoughts disappear and more joyful moments replace them. 🌝
Now, I'll say something that may seem weird now but in time you will understand completely - The suicidal thoughts are NOT yours! They do not belong to you, to who you are. You are probably very sensitive so you pick other people's bad moods or imbalances, and you take all that into yourself. This is not yours! Release it. You are worthy! And you are definitely deserve to enjoy life. 👍🤞

Thank you for your input, @nomad-magus. That is exactly right. Sometimes just one deep breath or consecutive breaths can change awful thoughts into fleeting moments. And those that are sensitive can often have their moods change due to surrounding forces.

Thank You so much Friend

good words, life is full of obstacles. best regards @barryadzra

Fear is your worst enemy and it overpowers you only because we let it overpower us. Anxiety depression are things which we feel come uninvited but they have a long connection with our thinking and way of life. But it nevertheless is no end. We are the only ones who could fight our own fears. Nothing is impossible. Just need to hang in their. Have faith in our abilities and keep doing good things in life.
