WHAT IS FGM? Female genital mutilation defined by the World Health Organization (WHO) as all procedures which involve partial or total removal of the external female genitalia and/or injury to the female genital organs, whether for cultural or any other non-therapeutic reasons. Basically FGM is performed with a razor blade on girls between the ages of four and 12, traditionally without anaesthetic.
TYPES OF FGM.
According to several researches there are mainly three form of FGM. The Clitoridectemy, excision and infibilation
CLITORIDECTEMY
This is the partial or complete cutting of the clitoris, the most sensitive part of the genitals. On rare occasions, only the fold of skin around the clitoris is cut, which is called the prepuce. The person who is performing the circumcision pinches the Clitoris the cuts it of with a razor blade and then proceeds to the Clitoral gland and cuts it off

INFIBILATION
this process is the most severe and complicated FGM process. This process involves the total removal(cutting) of the external part of the vagina, then the vaginal opening is being narrowed by sewing together both sides of the vulva and a little space(around 2-3mm) is left for passage of urine and menstrual flow.
