New block LS3

in engineer •  6 years ago

This is a brand new LS3 block, showing how much bore distortion there is when the plate(or a cylinder head) is bolted to the block...big effect on ring seal right in the top 1/3rd where a pressure is highest. 👎🏻 Almost a full .001” out of round which today’s thin metric ring packs won’t conform to, wondering why your LS consumes oil? The bore should be held to a cylindricity of less than .0002” - more power, a longer service life, and very little oil consumption.
