How much labor and material needs for floor work?

in engineering •  7 years ago  (edited)
Greetings, how are you steemit friends? Wish you good health always. In the previous discussion we have calculated the needs of labor and materials on the work of mountain foundations, sloof reinforced concrete, brick walls, reinforced concrete floor plate and painting.

Our discussion today is the calculation of labor requirements and floor work materials, this flooring work includes backfill work, K-100 cast concrete, landfill sand and floor coating (ceramic size 40 x 40 cm).

At this early stage we should know in advance technical backfill work, landfill sand, K-100 cast concrete and floor coating.

a. Backfill work

The soil used must meet the technical specifications, the backfill compaction is done by means or manually, the backfill overlap is done by not accumulating in a particular field to facilitate the worker in the process of overlaying.

b. Landfill sand

The landfill sand in question is layered in layers and compacted manually or by means.

c. Concrete (K-100)

Workers are lining the K-100 concrete for floor-coating. The photo I ( @kharrazi ) took a few months ago on a construction project using a pocket camera

The foundry work begins by mixing the material in accordance with the specification until it becomes homogeneous, after the concrete mixture is stirred, it is poured into a bucket or a stroller and overlaid on the floor surface, when casting needs to be compacted by pounding the surface with wood so that cast gravel can be mutually filling and solid, on the surface that has been considered flat need to be made rough with broom stick.

d. Floor coating (Ceramic size 40 x 40 cm)

Workers are installing floor linings with ceramic sizes 40x40 cm. The photo I ( @kharrazi ) took a few months ago on a construction project using a pocket camera

Floor coating work that we will discuss is ceramic floor size 40 x 40 cm, this work started after the work of the cast floor is considered finished.

Ceramics will be lined with a layer of water mixed with cement, this mixture serves as a glue between the ceramic and the cast floor.

After the ceramic is dry and considered finished then the worker then insert ceramic gap with color cement so that ceramic not quickly damaged during expansion.

The use of ceramic floor is very common in Indonesia, ceramics have high flexibility and can be used in almost all rooms.

Another plus is, ceramic does not require polishing and has a low maintenance cost.

Currently ceramic is very easy to find on the market, various colors and textures we can choose to make ceramics cheap choice of users.

CALCULATION OF LABOR AND MATERIAL REQUIREMENTS

I use technical analysis in accordance with the Indonesian National Standard to determine the required labor and material requirements for floor work with an area of 4.00 M 2

a. Backfill work
To work on 1m3 backfill jobs is required:

ItemsAmount
Worker0.300 Person Per Day
Overseer0.010 Person Per Day
Land1,200 m3

To do backfill work with a volume of 0.88 m3 is required

ItemsInformationAmount
Workers0.300 Person Per Day x 0.88 m30.264 Person
Overseer0.010 Person Per Day x 0.88 m30.009 Person

CONCLUSION

To do the floor coating work in accordance with the above picture is required:

ItemsAmount
Worker1,564 Person
Stonemason/Floorman0,540 Person Per Day
Foreman0,056 Person Per Day
Overseer0,075 Person Per Day
Soil1,056 m3
Sand Landfill0,240 m3
Portland Cement85,200 Kg
Concrete Sand178,600 Kg
Gravel205,400 Kg
Water40,000 Liters
Ceramics Floor 40x40 cm4,240 m2
Cement Colors5,200 Kg
Sand0,180 m3

The calculation of the need for floor work is just an example and can be used especially to young engineers and lay people, analysis of labor and material needs calculations on this work using the analysis of Indonesian National Standard, can be developed as needed.
