Earthquake Resistant Building Concrete

A good quality earthquake resistant building should not only be built in earthquake prone areas. The death toll in earthquake disaster is usually caused by the victim struck by building material, therefore there is a need for good building quality

How are earthquake resistant building standards good?

Building anti or earthquake resistant is a building that has a construction or building structure with good strength. Buildings like this are expected to survive from earthquakes up to 7 on the Richter scale. If the earthquake that occurred has a power exceeding 7 Richter scale then later expected the building does not immediately collapsed just like that. But the building is expected to collapse but will collapse slowly to give time to the people in it to save themselves

Basically to make a building that is earthquake resistant then the building structure must be made symmetrically. It has been proven that symmetrical buildings have more power than those that are not symmetrical. Aesthetic value of a building is important to beautify the building, but more important is to pay attention to the strength of the structure of the building

Building materials such as mild steel and mortar cement are earthquake resistant building materials. Therefore if you are going to make any building now should use the building materials as light as possible. This is because the lightweight construction material is a requirement for the building to be earthquake resistant building. Lightweight steel is also suitable for building materials on a small building pole

Earthquake Resistant Building Principles

A building can be said to be earthquake resistant if the building responds to earthquakes that occur with the nature of dakilitas that can survive from collapse and flexibility to dampen the vibration during an earthquake

General Characteristics of Earthquake Resistant Building

  • The structure has a dynamic earthquake-style retaining system

  • Strength of a good earthquake-resistant system

  • The configuration of the structure is eligible for earthquake resistant building purposes

To create a building that is resistant to earthquake then need to pay attention to the following:

Foundation

Foundation building is the most important part of the building because this foundation serves to funnel the building load to the ground. Therefore the foundation of the building must be built on hard ground and should not be soft. The foundation of this building should at least have a depth of 60 to 75 cm depending on the building to be made

Rock mounts to be installed as a foundation should also be installed after the soil is covered and hardened. After the soil is really hard then can be foundry to the foundation. In the construction of buildings, the architects will ensure the strength of the foundation using a concrete hardness test or so-called hardness tester. This will ensure the strength of the concrete foundation accurately

Concrete

This concrete is the most common part of the building where concrete can be made using a mixture of sand (fine aggregates, gravels (coarse aggregates) stirred with water and cement

Reinforced concrete

In addition to that, in making a house that is resistant to earthquakes also need to ensure the manufacture of reinforced concrete. The working and quality of reinforced concrete is a thing to be ensured to protect the iron from outside influences as well as corrosion

Okay friends Steemit, so my discussion for earthquake resistant building materials. See you in the next post
