A Monarchy in the 21st Century

Is a monarchy necessary in the 21st century? Do we really need to be ruled over by a person who are only in power because of their family and ancestors?

I believe that the monarchy should be abolished and I will be listing reasons why below:

1). The monarchy represents inequality. It forms a hierarchy between the elite (royalty), the Lords and then everyone else. Inequality should not be permitted in the 2017. We don't get to have any say on who we want to represent us as a country. It's always going to be the next person in line in the Windsor family.

2). The monarchy costs us around £300 Million every year which can be better spent on the NHS, homeless, national security, etc.

3). Some may argue that the monarchy brings in a lot of tourism revenue but this is not so true. France has one of the highest amount of tourism revenue and they don't have a monarchy. Tourists come to see our palaces and not the royal family. I mean, come on it's not like the tourists will be taking a selfie with the Queen.

4). Royals meddle with our politics, our MPs who serve us have to swear allegiance to the Queen. This means that they are not allowed to go against the Queen #dictatorship

5). And of course there's the tax avoidance and offshore investments that the Royals have been doing. Stinks off foul play.
