[Cervantes Magazine - Vol. 12]

Welcome to this new section, where I’ll be talking about the most interesting, necessary and essential art in our lives: music.

This time I want to talk about an important issue: Family in steemian terms. I believe that anyone could intuit family, rather than kinship, is a very strong and powerful bond of identification with cooperation, unconditionality and love. I’ve met many people who don’t need kinship with someone to identify others as their family, i’m one of those.

For many people, entering Steemit is like opening the door of your house at Christmas: smiles, gifts everywhere, but above all, a lot of art. As you become involved in Steemit as a musician, you become part of something as special as the Hispanic community and realize that you can be better every day. It's training, uploading covers, putting challenges, spend part of your time to write, to compose, to risk everything to show a part of you, because after all, is your passion.

All the musicians that enter the platform are people who every day try enthusiastically to build their musical project (be it soloist, instrumentalist or a band) in the real world. In many occasions (as in other types of art), music can be underestimated if you have a low level of exposure, since to achieve something "big", you would often need to invest a lot of money on a good music producer, management, etc. What could be called “an artistic catapult”. And your investment does not guarantee success either.

Probably other musicians had never uploaded any work to any of their networks until they met with Steemit, and they made the decision to start showing their compositions, their covers and their most personal side. We know very well that it’s not an easy challenge because we fear the low exposure that the media and the music industry have showed us, but you know what’s the best part? seeing that through a simple label you can reach a lot of musicians and users who will admire your work, they’ll vote and comment on it. We are a growing family, and there’s nothing better than feeling what you do may be worthwhile, that it can be appreciated through a couple of comments, and that your music can be known in different parts of the world.

If you are a musician and you are reading this, I invite you to risk yourself with your art, to live your true passion, to learn something new every day. Take that guitar and record yourself. Take a chance to sing that song you’ve always wanted to sing. The great family of musicians on this platform will be willing to follow your work, to value and motivate you. Our main premise is to give and to unite.

Welcome to the Steemit family of musicians!

Thanks to users @fnux and @tafio who helped me by giving me their perspective as steemian musicians.

We're trying to pull a body of content together with our new podcast to help musicians on their journey creating their art. We're new to Steemit, so would love to here from you or any of the musicians out there.
