The treatment of pterygium or terigion oscillates between more natural remedies. A variety of natural substances are effective for the treatment and elimination of fleshy eyes or pterygium. These treatments interrupt and even reverse the growth of the pterygium.

¿What is the Pterygium or fleshiness in the eyes?

Also known as the surfer's eye, pterygium is a condition that involves the growth of a pink or white fleshy tissue in the eye. Growth usually forms on the side closest to the nose and grows continuously throughout an individual's life. The most common symptoms associated with the disease include burning, itching, blurred vision, a gritty feeling or the sensation of having a foreign body in the eye. While the cause of the disease is unclear, contributing factors may include dry eye, prolonged exposure to ultraviolet light, irritants such as dust and wind.

Natural remedies for the fleshy eyes

Pterygium treatment requires elements that disperse growth and reduce inflammation and irritation. Many natural options achieve both things effectively. Apple cider vinegar, castor oil and activated charcoal are some of the most effective treatments for the condition.

  • Apple cider vinegar
Apple cider vinegar is a very acidic compound. When diluted with water and applied to the affected eye, the acid in the vinegar balances the pH of the eye and, naturally, minimizes growth. Vinegar also contains a wide range of vitamins and minerals that are healthy for the eye.

  • Castor oil
Castor oil is a natural oil that is used to treat several different diseases. The oil is composed of ricinoleic acid almost 90 percent, making it an effective anti-inflammatory. As such, the oil functions to reduce inflammation in the eye and the growth of the reverse tumor.

  • Activated carbon
Activated charcoal is a common remedy known for its ability to absorb most organic toxins, chemicals and poisons. The activated carbon is highly alkaline so it realigns the body's alkalinity level. These properties, together eliminate any agent that causes inflammation in the body and reduce the appearance of fleshy eyes (pterygium).

Pterygium is a common eye disease that typically affects people who spend a lot of time outdoors. The condition manifests as the growth of a pink or white fleshy tissue on the white of the eye. Natural treatments effectively eliminate growth and relieve any inflammation or associated discomfort.
