TED

TED (Technology, Entertainment, Design), is a non-profit organization that posts talks online for free distribution based on "ideas worth spreading" slogan, founded in February 1984. Their talks and conferences cover content on topics such as sciences, art and design, politics, education, culture, business, global affairs, technology, development and entertainment. There are many projects and events in the ted organization such as:

  1. TED Conferences: Is an annual conference in different parts of the world, where they cover different topics. TED Conferences cover projects like:
    • TEDGloblal: Is an aggregate conference with an inclination more than anything towards international. It was held in international places susch like UK, Brazil and India.
    • TEDMED: Is an annual conference concerned with health and medicine. It is an independent event operating under license from the nonprofit TED conference.
    • TEDWomen: Is a series of conferences focused on women-oriented themes, including gender issues and reproductive health

  2. TEDx:Are congresses organized independently under an exclusive license of TED.TEDx congresses are non-profit events, but the entrance fee can be charged or sponsors can be found to cover costs, in the same way, the lecturers do not charge. In addition, they must renounce the copyright of the generated materials, so that TED can edit and distribute them under a Creative Commons license.
  3. TED Talks: Are talks made by different TED certified collaborators of the ted organization in different parts of the world. Occurred between TED speakers and organizers. You can find a lot of their talks on their Youtube channel.They have a lot of interesting content, about differents topics.
  4. TED Fellows: Is a selection program from TED organization, to people who really need it and are interesting on this project.Each year, 20 past Fellows are chosen to participate in the two-year Senior Fellows program (in which they will attend four more conferences).
  5. TED Ed: Is a YouTube channel as well as a website. It creates explanatory animation videos on various concepts. It can be funded by anyone through patreon for which they get some perks like the displaying the name of the person in the video. They have really interesting videos.   6. TED Books: These are original books from TED. The initiative began in January 2011 as an ebook series and re-launched in September 2014 with its first book in print.
  7. TedEd Clubs: An education based initiative to get young people (ages 8 to 18) to share their ideas with peers and others by giving a TED-like presentation on a topic. TED provides curricula and limited support for the Clubs free of charge.
  8. TED Salon: Smaller evening-length events with speakers and performers.
  9. TED Radio Hour: A radio podcast program hosted by Guy Raz and co-produced with NPR. Each episode uses multiple TED Talks to examine a common theme.
