Did you know that man can produce paternal milk and breastfeed his child?

I have to admit that it has been difficult for me to write this topic because of its complexity and length, but I think I have done it in a simple way so that everyone understands it.

So it is possible to produce paternal milk, however, the amount of milk would not be the same as breast milk, there are those who say that paternal milk is not suitable for human consumption, however, recent cases, unusual, of course have shown otherwise.

Now, why is it possible? The reason is because the milk producing glands of men and women are the same. And there are several ways that can produce milk, the first is a strange phenomenon triggered by a condition called prolactinoma a tumor that stimulates the secretion of milk.

This may also be due to exposure to estrogens, androgens (sometimes taken in secret to evolve the body), marijuana and some medications.

All of the above causes an increase in the mammary glands (known as gynecomastia), once that situation can occur milk using a pump or leaving a baby suck the male nipple. While you can not produce the same amount of milk as a woman, your milk may work as a supplement.

In recent years, male breastfeeding has attracted interest and has been the subject of several studies, in fact an article in the Sri Lankan newspaper "The Mercury", October 2002, tells the story of a Sri Lankan widower who nursed her baby

According to the note, a 38-year-old man from Sri Lanka, whose wife has died three months ago, appears to have the ability to breastfeed his two young daughters. The man, from the central city of Walapone, lost his wife during childbirth. "The oldest of my daughters refused to be fed artificial milk. One day I was so worried, that to try to stop crying, I offered my chest. Then I realized that I was able to breastfeed her " admitted the man.

Dr Kamal Jayasinghe of the Sri Lankan government hospital explained that it was possible for men to produce milk when the hormone prolactin became overactive.

Lately it is becoming a fashion male breastfeeding, and I say fashion because a designer made an ideal shirt for male breastfeeding. Here I leave the photos.

The shirt is designed by the Swedish Ronnie Österberg and has been named Man: MILK is a shirt for male suckling and one of the projects presented in the Body category of the 2007 Index Awards: design to improve the quality of life .

What! how did they look? 😯

good news mens 😉
