What do the Panama Papers have to do with the Blockchain? Well, for one they are both titles of doc films coming out from British Director Alex Winter in 2018. “The Panama Papers” open last month and details the shell games the world’s rich and elite use to avoid paying taxes for societal benefits and hide their money all around the world out of the reach of national governments.

Meanwhile, “Trust Machine; The Story of the Blockchain” purportedly presents a wide view of the blockchain and tries to expand the conversation from just the typical Bitcoin and alternative currency angles to investigate many other things that blockchain technology can entail.

I haven’t see either of these movies but found it interesting they are from the same director. Obviously Alex Winter is busy trying to uncover the layers of meaning in two important areas related to the sustainability of financial and technological systems that are shaping the world, for better or for worse.
