Fun Movies I Recommend From the '80s

I don't think it would be much disputed that the '80s were the highlight of the entertainment industry in general. Even Millennials have admitted to me that despite the special effects and campiness of much of the '80's movies, they still had heart. I myself would add that the screenplays, plots, and stories were better conceived, and much more intricate back then; even the campy comedies were better thought out than today's tripe.

So, rummaging around on Amazon Prime I was pleased to see so many great flicks from my beloved '80s, and would love to recommend some of them to you. First up we have Crocodile Dundee. It was funny, romantic, emotional, and fun. Next up is Back to School, which is a classic by the true definition of the word. Plus it had a very young Robert Downey Jr. in it, which is interesting to see. City Slickers may not be on Amazon Prime per se, but I watched it recently and had to mention it. Now that I am older I can really relate to Billy Crystal's character in it ... perhaps too well. When Harry Met Sally is the funniest and thus best romantic comedy of all time by the way.

These may not be available on A Prime specifically, but they are worth mentioning. The Running Man, Big Trouble In Little China, Soul Man, and Overboard are just a few I have watched recently, and was reminded how great they are compared to the average flick I see today. I think it is safe to say that the average '80s movie is far superior to today's average movie.

As for now, unless something changes soon, what is available on A Prime is WarGames (Fantastic Cold War movie), The Burbs (Tom Hank's best comedy of the eighties), Spaceballs, which is underrated, and Mr. Mom (which was way ahead of it's time and had a lot of heart). Lastly, I give you The Return of the Living Dead, which is the film that I tell people I have the most fun watching. It is literally the funnest movie I have ever seen.
