Today watched this movie for 2nd time, and wondered why the movie is named so. Is it because the psychopath kills number of old men in the movie?
But the main chase of the mouse and cat happens for the 2 million dollars, not for old men.
Can anyone tell me why the name is so? And by the way I liked the acting of the lead actor- Javier Bardem, who also acted as villain in Skyfall, he kills it.
The title 'No Country For Old Men' comes from the first line of the poem Sailing to Byzantium by an Irish poet, W.B Yeats.
Sheriff Bell repeatedly refers to the old days, how the world, and law enforcement, have changed and how the old value systems no longer apply, making it no longer a country for old men.

No Country for Old Men is one of my all-time favorite movies. The reasons for the title, for me, is fairly obvious. Just look at all the violence and crazy stuff that happens in the movie. Bardem goes about killing people throughout the movie. He does not really have to, he just does, he is a psychopath. Look at what people do in the movie for money's sake - robbing drug dealers, killing, lying. It's all very dangerous and stressful... not something old people should do for sure.
