Pop star Shakira is accused of tax fraud

The popular Colombian singer Shakira is being investigated on tax evasion in Spain. It is about revenues between 2011 and 2014.

Since December, the prosecutor's office in Barcelona has worked on the case, Shakira has fully taxed from 2015, but the tax authorities claim that she was also staying here more than 6 months a year in the years before. This means that she was taxable here in Spain, not only for Spanish income but also for global income.

Shakira claims that, during these years, she has not lived here for six months a year but mainly lived in different tax havens. But sources of tax authorities say that "it is publicly known that this is not the case".
