Everything starts with a journal ...

It is Saturday morning - and I was awake at 7 am. Incredible, sometimes the world is just crazy. When you have the time to sleep as long as you could - you can't and vise versa.

So I thought about - starting my new Journal and starting to tell YOU about my Journal and journalling in general.

Why journalling is one of the best tools for entrepreneurs

Especially for creative artists a Journal can be a lifesaver. But in my opinion, every entrepreneur and everyone who wants to improve or change his life should start journalling. Because

• with a journal you see your progress
• with a journal you can remind yourself of your goals and you are more likely to reach this goals
• with a journal you can reflect your life and your journey so far
• with a journal you have space to write down all your thought's and ideas
• with a journal you will never forget any appointment or deadline again
• ...

A journal can be an ideapool, a calendar, a diary, a goal map and everything you want to write about - all in once. Not to forget all the motivation it can give you.
And often - when you start implementing the routine of writing in your journal, implementing other habits or routines is easier.

What journal I would recommend for creative artists and entrepreneurs?

Creative artists and entrepreneurs often need space to write down all their ideas. They often also want to scribble, draw or sketch something down.

• So I really recommend a book with blank pages.

In the past years I tried a whole bunch of different journals. And for me the ones with blank pages just worked the best.

With blank pages you are free to write down whatever you like. Every situation, every part of your life can be different. To be free to make it your own journal - stay away from those who already have different layouts in it. Also stay away from books with lines or squared papers.

• And choose a book with thicker paper. So you be free to use any kind of pencil you want.
• And of course: look for a book you feel good with, and which you find beautiful

My book is a "livre d'or". I know traditionally it is used for guestbooks. But look how beautiful and minimalistic it is. Just white and gold. Even the sides of the pages are golden. I just love to write in it ;-) even though I know all the people who understand the meaning of a "livre d'or" would look strange at me when they will see it. But I don't care.

What to write in your Journal

This is the best thing of it: Whatever you like. It is your book. Your life, your goals, your creativity and you can make everything you want out of it.

In one of my next posts I will show you how I use and create my journal. I can tell you: with my journal I am a different kind of person. I am more succesfull and more calm, than without.
