An Historic Venue

This historic church would have started out as one of the pillars of the community and remains as on of the Jewels in the architectural crown of Stratford Ontario. The transformation from MacKenzie Memorial Gospel church to the go-to destination theater goers and locals alike has been very kind to this wonderful establishment. Whether you are drinking in the sounds of casual conversation of inspired dining, enjoying an evening of lively music, enjoying a social event in the upstairs Belfry, or basking in the mid-afternoon warmth on the out-door terrace, the easy class of this place really struck us. Preserving the historic grandeur while refreshing decor and engineering the acoustics of a concert hall is an artistic feat in and of itself. Appreciating the facility from a business ownership perspective, the versatility of the space and ability to provide a variety of great patron experience while staying true to the vibe is mouth-watering.

You really have to see it for your self.

The Dining

It was as hard for us to pick only one picture to represent the dining experience as it was to refrain from sampling the wonderful dishes as we were photographing them. With the cavernous backdrop, wonderful variety of dishes and drinks, and pleased looks on the proud faces of the chef and dining room manager, this one did it for us. It was an overcast day but the dishes beamed with colour and flavour, making us glad we made a lunch reservation here. When you hit https://www.revival.house/Menus/ you will find a menu that has variety and specialty. Craft beer, fancy cocktails (you can sample in a flight?!?) customizable charcuterie & cheese boards, bountiful salads and starters, and mains that somehow stuck us as an improbable balance between comfort food and an exotic treat. We literally didn't have room for dessert but expect is is just as delectable.

The food and drink are accompanied by attentive, friendly staff and the smallest salt shaker in town as you really don't have to augment the taste from when your dish is skillfully presented. Lunch or dinner, indoors, out or upstairs in the Belfry...you will return for experience it all.

Events

You can imagine how popular this place is for events. Parties, weddings, corporate retreats, office celebrations and other special events are made that much more special in a place like this. As it that wasn't enough, the owner Rob Wigan is somewhat of a local celebrity on the music scene here with his DJ skills and support of the local music scene. IT is an absolute MUST for Stratford and area people to attend one of the special concerts here. How a fine dining mecca can transform into a concert hall for a night of show, crooning, reggae, dueling pianos, hip-hop or an explosion of sound like the pictured https://www.gypsykumbia.com/ Gypsy Kumbia Orchestra is an unique experience.

It feels that this story has only scratched the surface of what this place has to offer. This is likely a story we will have to tell in a few chapters as there are so many levels to this business. To be able to support local business plays such a large part in the community, defines dining class and taste, and hugely supports the local music scene is truly special.
