If the is no agriculture, there will be no human civilization. We all depend on the agricultural system. One of the growing worldwide concern is the reduction of the agricultural capacity of the fields and the available area for farming. Researchers are trying to find a sustainable solution for this. And they come up with the idea of Regenerative agriculture. Though there are fertilizer and pesticides, and also different methods to increase the level of production but Regenerative agriculture can be the nicest solution.
This is called the depletion of natural resources or the depletion of the Earth's productive potential. There are many factors causing the depletion of the land and water resources. They include erosion and the loss of soil fertility from erosion, soil development, deforestation, overgrazing, water harvesting, climate change, floods, droughts and air pollution from energy intensive industries. Today, 70% of the world's population lives in countries or areas that are either severely affected or affected in certain ways by climate change and environmental degradation.
There are actually different ways to go towards regenerative agriculture. Like producing a different crop in one field, leaving the previous year's crop residue out on the field, plating crops to reduce pesticide use, cultivating fish in the same field, etc. As the process is long term and may seem less beneficial primarily so most of the government and farm owner are not very convinced.
Nature knows how to heal itself. But we need to take the initiative to encourage this practice. Now, the question arises. How can we encourage or make an influence to support this regenerative agricultural practice as a consumer?
The first step is, questions about your food. Where it comes from, how it produces, who produces it and so on? If we start to intake organic regenerative agriculture-based food, eventually the government and the system will understand the need. Also, making awareness about this can help a lot. Like using the power of social media about this.
It's our duty to ensure a better future for our future generation. If we make use of all the fertility of the lands, how our future generations will survive? So, think about it, make an initiative and encourage others.
