Why doesnt Steem have a masternode style system in the next hardfork like @fyrstikken asked Last year in his https://steemspeak.com chat
I thought it would be an interest idea to allow staking of 100,000 steem to allow a mini witness node that signed a small amount of blocks, and provided you with some set amount of steem from the witness pool..... allow anyone to buy their way to become a mini witness and have like 100 masternode spots...
This is what paytomat is doing but on eos and I suspect @aggroed will Pioneer a similar method using ScotBot on Steem-engine.com which already offers the incredible feature of staking of basic SE tokens (steem engine tokens) and stake based rewards for more advanced Scotbot enabled SE tokens
Allowing for users to stake in their wallet is a first for any crypto currency and the speed and capacity of eos allows for this.... also showing a perpetual target of 1 million PTI as a goal will incentivize users to keep stacking up PTI untill they have enough to earn a nice passive income off their stake.
Since eos has the Rex resource exchange, steem needs something like this and masternodes could be a beautiful addition for steems Worker Proposal system being created by @blocktrades
