EOS vs OmiseGO/ETH

in eos •  7 years ago  (edited)

Did you see this on Twitter? OmiseGo (aka OMG) says it can process at least 1 Million tx/sec. This is on par (or better) than what EOS claims.

Does this make ETH a real competitor to EOS? Is EOS unnecessary now? Will the network effect of ETH be too much to overcome if this is true?

When I see that. I see that they are going to take a year or two to come out. Since Ethereum won't be able to do that for at least another year. EOS will be out already by then, and they will have 1 billion dollars worth of ethereum in a war chest. Then they will go to war, while Ethereum tries to upgrade without a coin split. All this time Omisego will just be trying to build everything and be ready for Ethereum to upgrade to plasma. Or am I wrong?

i agree with you. I think EOS, being designed from the ground up to process so many transactions/sec, will be a real competitor to ETH even with the multi-year lag in their project's start.

If and when Ethereum succesfully upgrade to Plasma using sharding technology.

yeah, that's what i'm thinking. They worked w/ the Zcash team to implement zk-snarks.

If you look at my one of the post, i have mention it is potential threats to EOS.

Some interesting links between block.one and Omise, maybe it will use EOS instead of waiting for Plasma??

one advantage for EOS is having no gas to spend. i really like the EOS economic model.
