It's not about shutting down, that makes no sense as the blockchains are decentralised and driven by community. Even Dan doesn't have the power to just shut down chains just because he created it. The discussion is more about the effects of EOS on blockchains like Steemit and Bitshares which are great but are largely undervalued.
