WHY DO I HAVE TO MAP THE EOS TOKENS? AREN'T THEY ALREADY MAPPED TO MEW?

Sorry for the Caps.

I followed through to STEP 2, and wonder why do we have to do step 3?
Isn't the EOS tokens already mapped to MEW?
